Chrissy Eberle is the Director of Bands. She started her teaching career at West Columbus High School in August of 2017 after earning her Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Science in Music Education at Western Carolina University in May of 2017. She started teaching at Wheatmore High School in the fall of 2019.
Mrs. Eberle is a native of Archdale, North Carolina. She began playing an instrument in 6th grade at Braxton-Craven, with Mr. Chris Ferguson as her 6th grade band director. She stayed in band when she continued to Archdale-Trinity Middle School, under the direction of Mr. Kim Summers. After the Trinity/Wheatmore split, Mrs. Eberle attended Trinity High School under the direction of Mr. Brian Barfield.
During her time at Western Carolina, Mrs. Eberle had the opportunity to perform in a number of ensembles and study under some of the top music educators. Her primary instrument is flute, and in addition to studying with Dr. Eldred Spell she had the opportunity to meet and learn from world-famous flautists, including William Bennett. Mrs. Eberle was a member of the "Pride of the Mountains" Marching Band, under the direction of Mr. David Starnes, Mr. Matt Henley, and Mr. Jon Henson.. As a member, she got to participate in performances all around the nation, including the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York and "Bands of America" Grand Nationals in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was also a member of the Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. John West and Dr. Margi Underwood, as well as a member of the Symphonic Band and the University Chorus.
In her spare time outside of marching band season, Mrs. Eberle enjoys spending time with her husband, her family, and her cats.
Mrs. Eberle is a sister of Sigma Alpha Iota International Music Fraternity and a member the North Carolina Music Educators Association as well as the National Association for Music Education.
